Baseball is considered one of the activities that can unite Taiwanese in sport events. Among many outstanding baseball players, there are many indigenous players coming from Hualien and Taitung.  With the forming of Care Cup, baseball teams of elementary and junior high school from Hualien and Taitung area no longer need to travel far to participate competitions in the western and northern Taiwan.

 

The participating teams of the Care Cup are mainly composed by indigenous teenagers. Care Cup names event theme individually for each year, and the theme is based on the spirit of indigenous tribes.

The theme of the 25th edition in 2018 is “The Direction of the Heart”. Baseball is a sport that starts from home and back with home run. Its logo design is based on the silhouettes of the mountains, seas and a house to give out a home imagery, coupled with emotional strokes, simple woodcut text and popular check in symbols to form the event symbol. For this year is the 25th anniversary of the Care Cup, so number 25 is specially embedded. And for the heart-shaped activity symbol, it is a visual extension of the main emblem, also portrayed a lively and dynamic event posture.
